Trained in Fitness & Leisure Management Originally trained at the Scottish School of PE, and attaining a BA Degree, Lesley then went on to work in Leisure Centres in Glasgow, London and Devon. After gaining her Management Diploma at Exeter, she became Marketing Manager and Fitness Adviser in local leisure centres. She is trained in children's fitness and qualified in various other fitness related areas and sports coaching, as well as being a first aid tutor/assessor. Rowing Champion In her first main sport, Lesley became the first ever female member to join the Clydesdale Rowing club in Glasgow. She then went on to row internationally as well as representing Scotland, being National Championship and medal winner for many years. She also officiated at the 13th Commonwealth Games for her sport. Taekwon-do & Kick Boxing When she moved to Devon she started Taekwon-do, and in this time has become a Fully Qualified Instructor and opened up schools throughout the South Hams. In 1998 she represented England in the World championships at Birmingham. In 2000 she trained in a seminar taught by the Founder of Taekwon-do, Major General Choi, 9th Degree, and was even more privileged to be invited to an inaugeration dinner with the Major General. In 2005, Lesley trained with the Founders son, President Choi, Jung Hwa in Atlantic City. 2007 she was an official at the ITF World Championships in Birmingham, and helped coach her students at the Worlds in Korea, 2010, Rome in 2014 and Brighton 2016. In all four Worlds, the club has come back with World Champions and medal winners. In October 2016 Lesley graded to become a 5th Degree Black Belt. July 2018 attends World Champs in Argentina as coach for club member representing Team GB, who wins two Bronze Medals and one Silver Medal. Teaching Lesley has been teaching and instructing all her life, whether it was volunteering as leader in Scout Groups, teaching in various sports including swimming, trampolining, orienteering and rowing, teaching and lecturing at local colleges and schools about the leisure industry, teaching as a National Standards Instructor in Bikeability, mainly working with the Plymouth Schools Sports Partnership, as a Martial Arts Instructor and also a qualified First Aid Tutor, running regular courses in the South Hams, as well as running courses for groups throughout the UK.
